Frequently Asked Questions
1. I am not a healthcare worker. Can I still be your client?
YES! My experience helps me to uniquely relate to other healthcare workers, but the health coaching process works for anyone!
2. What are your prices?
It depends on which coaching option you choose, and the best way for us to decide that is through a discovery call. The discovery call helps to ensure that you and I are a good fit for each other and that coaching will provide the services that you need. I'm willing to bet that just like me, you hate smarmy salespeople. Don't worry, you won't find that here.
3. Do you give medical/nursing care with coaching?
No, not in this coaching setting. You never know what the future will bring, but for now, my coaching practice is separate from my role as a Nurse Practitioner. You will still get my applicable expertise and knowledge, but I will not be diagnosing or prescribing in this setting.
4. Am I an alcoholic?
How does it feel to ask yourself this question? Or to answer it?
I find this term, and other similar terms surrounding the conversation of alcohol, to be very damaging. The term 'alcoholic' puts all responsibility on the person, despite the fact that alcohol is one of the most addictive substances out there. Also, what does this even mean? There is a lot of variability in what people consider to be problem drinking. The medical community doesn't use the term 'alcoholic' anymore, partly because there is a huge spectrum of drinkers that have harmful physical, social, and/or mental health effects from alcohol, without meeting someone's definition of 'alcoholic'.
Here is the best news: you can decide that you want to change your relationship with alcohol whether you feel this term applies to you or not! Language is SO important and I am happy to talk more on this in person, as it is a complicated topic!
